Health and Fitness

Staying healthy is important but it sure is a pain in the neck. As you get older you have to try harder to stay healthy and if you put on too much weight or suffer injuries it takes longer to fix what is broken. Old age isn't very fair to us, is it? And yet as we get older we learn more about what it takes to stay healthy and fit so we at least have that advantage over our younger selves.

Life is different in America than from a place like Australia. We Americans think of Australians as living in the Outback although most Australians live in big cities and have access to all the modern amenities. And while we have the American Heart Association the Australians have the Heart Foundation.

We have American heart doctors and they have Australian heart doctors. It's not like you have to fly halfway around the world to get good medical care. Whether you need an optometrist in Australia or a Myrtle Beach, SC eye-care specialist you're bound to have about equal access in either the United States or Australia to proper, state-of-the-art medical care.

You might need to find a fitness club in Melbourne or a fitness club in Miami if you want to change your lifestyle. In either nation you can find ways to start becoming active and learn how to adjust your daily meal plan so that you don't continue to gain weight.

Health begins with the spirit. I mean that you have to have a healthy spirit in order to want to have a healthy body. People who are depressed, anxious, or obsessive-compulsive in some way often struggle to change their diets and activity levels because they don't know how to overcome their feelings. Your feelings are a reflection of your spiritual health. We struggle to remain healthy spiritually and that affects our physical health.
